Greetings Emma and Jeb,
It is with sincere disappointment that I am writing to inform you, I will be unable to attend your wedding on August the 3rd. This occasion was certainly at the top of my list this summer. Unfortunately, it has become unworkable between work and prior obligations.
Since we first time we met in August of 2011, I have noticed the profound way in which you both have expertly taken on the twin responsibility of asserting your independence while acknowledging the source of happiness you have in each other. This might come off quite strong, because our relationship is based on a few personal events, but it is certainly not without warrant. Blurbs from Facebook and listening to mutual friends about the two of you provide warm insight into your life in the Capital. Secondly, I know the strains that moving to a very competitive city can place on oneself, and by extension relationships. It appears you have excelled in your professional careers and relationship to levels unimaginable prior to moving to DC. It is for this reason, that I am so happy you a getting married next month. There is nothing comparable to success without the requisite exhaustion.
I wish you a beautiful wedding, surrounded by your closest friends and family. I hope to see you soon in DC.
